Booking, Pricing & Promotions

Everything about reserving your sailing, fare inclusions and current promotions.

8 Q
How do I book a Genting Dream cruise from Singapore?
You can book directly with us through our enquiry form — we reply with a live quote, usually within the hour. Alternatively, you can book through major travel platforms (Klook, Trip.com) or directly via the StarDream Cruises website. We track prices weekly and often match or beat the listed fare for the same sailing date and cabin category. Send us your dates →
How far in advance should I book the Genting Dream?
For the best fares and cabin availability, book 3 to 6 months ahead, especially for peak school holidays, festive long weekends and Palace suites. Connecting cabins for families sell out fastest. Last-minute deals do appear sometimes within 30 days of sailing, but availability is unpredictable.
What is included in the Genting Dream cruise fare?
Your fare includes cabin accommodation, meals at 5 complimentary venues (The Lido buffet, Dream Dining Room Upper, Dream Dining Room Lower, Lobby Café, and most of Blue Lagoon), pools, waterslides, gym, zipline, rock climbing, mini-golf, nightly Zodiac Theatre shows and selected activities. Not included: gratuities, port charges, fuel surcharge, specialty dining, alcohol, Wi-Fi, spa, shore excursions and arcade.
How much does a Genting Dream cruise cost?
A 2-night sailing starts from approximately SGD 299 per person twin-share for an Interior cabin. Oceanview from SGD 379, Balcony from SGD 499, Balcony Deluxe from SGD 599, and Palace Suites from SGD 1,099 per person. Add gratuity (SGD 21–26/person/night), fuel surcharge (SGD 15/person/night from 20 March 2026) and port charges (~SGD 50–90).
What is the deposit and balance payment schedule?
Booking deposit is typically 50% of the total fare, with the balance due 120 days before departure (60 days in some regions). During peak sailings, full payment is required at confirmation. Deposits are usually non-refundable, and amendments may incur a change fee — always confirm the exact terms of your specific booking.
Are there discounts for children or seniors?
Yes. Children typically receive a reduced fare when sharing a cabin with two paying adults (3rd or 4th guest). Infants under 2 years are exempt from gratuities and the fuel surcharge. Some sailings offer "kids sail free" promotions during off-peak periods. Ask us when enquiring and we will flag any current child or senior offers.
Can I book a single (solo) cabin on Genting Dream?
You can book a cabin as a solo traveller, but you will typically pay a single supplement of 50–100% on top of the per-person twin-share rate. There are no dedicated single cabins on this ship. Occasional promotions waive the single supplement on selected sailings.
What is the current Genting Dream promotion for 2026?
Promotions change weekly. Common 2026 offers include the complimentary Sentosa Tourist Discovery Pass (one attraction free — Wings of Time, Scentopia, Palawan Golf, etc.) for guests boarding from Singapore, valid until 31 March 2026. Anniversary-year promotions for the Decade of Dreams programme also run throughout 2026. Send us your dates for the current best offer.

Cancellations, Refunds & Changes

Cancellation policy, refund timeline and what happens if you cannot sail.

6 Q
What is the Genting Dream cancellation policy?
For standard (non-promotional) sailings: 90+ days before departure — no charge; 89–46 days — 30% of fare; 45–30 days — 50%; 29–15 days — 70%; 14 days or fewer — 100% (no refund). Peak sailings and promotional non-refundable fares may carry 100% cancellation charges from the day of booking.
Can I get a refund if I cancel my Genting Dream cruise?
Refunds depend on how far ahead you cancel and your fare type. Standard fares follow the sliding scale above (full refund 90+ days out, decreasing thereafter). Promotional fares are often 100% non-refundable from the day of booking. Travel insurance with a "cancellation for any reason" clause is strongly recommended for protection.
What happens if I get sick before sailing?
If you fall ill close to your sailing date, your cancellation fee depends entirely on how many days before departure you cancel — the cruise line does not waive standard cancellation fees for illness. This is why travel insurance with medical and trip-cancellation cover is strongly recommended — policies typically reimburse cancellation charges if you cancel due to documented illness.
Can I change my Genting Dream sailing date after booking?
Yes, on standard fares — typically with a change fee and any fare difference between the old and new sailing. Promotional fares may not allow changes. Name changes are usually treated as cancellations (with full cancellation fees) and re-bookings — so make sure passenger names are correct at the time of booking.
What happens if the cruise line cancels my sailing?
If StarDream Cruises cancels a sailing for operational reasons (mechanical, weather, port restrictions), you are typically offered a full refund or a credit toward a future sailing — often with a small bonus. Itinerary changes (skipped port, reverse order) usually do not entitle you to a refund — the cruise line reserves this right in the terms.
Can I transfer my booking to someone else?
Name changes are treated as cancellations by the cruise line — so the original booking is cancelled (with applicable fees) and a new one is created. Unless you book 90+ days out (no-charge cancellation window), transfers are usually impractical. Always travel insurance for protection.

Check-In, Documents & Embarkation

What to bring, when to arrive at Marina Bay, and how the boarding process works.

7 Q
When does online check-in open for the Genting Dream?
Mandatory online check-in opens 72 hours (3 days) before your sailing date and closes 24 hours before departure. Complete it at rwcruises.com → Manage My Cruise. Skipping it means a noticeably longer wait at the cruise terminal.
What documents do I need to bring?
Bring: (1) printed or digital cruise e-ticket, (2) passport valid for 6+ months from sailing, (3) any required visas, (4) for Singapore residents under 15 — NRIC/FIN or birth certificate, (5) credit/debit card for onboard charges. Also submit the Singapore Arrival Card (SGAC) online within 3 days before arrival.
What time should I arrive at Marina Bay Cruise Centre?
Arrive at the start of your assigned boarding time slot — not earlier (you will be asked to wait) and not later (queues build through the day). Plan to reach the terminal at least 2 hours before the last-boarding time stated on your ticket. Address: 61 Marina Coastal Drive, Singapore 018947.
How long is the check-in queue at Marina Bay?
Expect 1 to 2 hours during peak periods (school holidays, long weekends), and 30–60 minutes during off-peak. Palace guests have a separate VIP lane that is much faster. Arriving at the very start of your time slot is the single biggest factor in cutting your wait time.
Will my passport be held during the cruise?
Yes. Your passport is collected by cruise staff at boarding and held securely throughout the sailing. It is returned to you the night before disembarkation, usually at a designated counter near the front of your deck. This is standard procedure for international cruises from Singapore.
What if I miss the ship?
If you miss boarding, the ship will sail without you and you forfeit the cruise. The cruise line does not refund missed sailings due to delayed flights, traffic or other personal reasons. This is the main reason we recommend arriving in Singapore at least one night before your sailing date, especially if flying internationally.
Is there a safety drill on the Genting Dream?
Yes — every passenger must attend a mandatory safety drill, typically held in the early evening of the sailing day. Your assembly station is printed on your Access Card. Skipping the drill is taken seriously and can delay the ship's departure. The drill takes about 20 minutes.

Cabins, Suites & The Palace

Picking the right room — from compact Interiors to all-suite Palace.

7 Q
Which is the best cabin on the Genting Dream?
For most travellers, a mid-ship Balcony or Balcony Deluxe on Deck 11 or 12 is the sweet spot — private outdoor space, sea views, stable mid-ship position and fast lift access to dining. The Palace Suite is the best overall experience if your budget allows. See our full cabin guide for every category.
What is the difference between Balcony and Balcony Deluxe?
Both have private balconies, but Balcony Deluxe is approximately 22 m² versus 18–20 m² for a standard Balcony — more interior space and often a bathtub on family units. Balcony Deluxe sleeps up to 4 comfortably (queen bed + double sofa bed + optional Pullman) and is the most popular family choice.
What is included with a Palace suite?
Palace fares typically include: personal butler service, priority embarkation and disembarkation, private Palace Pool and Sun Deck on Deck 18, exclusive Palace Restaurant and Lounge, premium drinks package, Wi-Fi for the cruise duration, one specialty restaurant credit, and the private Palace Gym and Spa pool. Inclusions vary slightly by fare class.
Are there family or connecting cabins?
Yes — the Genting Dream has over 100 connecting and adjoining staterooms across Interior, Oceanview, Balcony and Palace categories. Many Balcony Deluxe rooms sleep 4 with crib option. Request connecting cabins early — they sell out fastest.
Does the Genting Dream have accessible cabins?
Yes — accessible versions are available across Interior, Oceanview, Balcony and Palace Suite categories, with wider doorways, roll-in showers and grab bars. Numbers are limited per sailing — request at the time of booking. Notify us of any specific accessibility requirements and we will confirm availability.
Can I get a cabin upgrade after booking?
Yes — about a week after booking you typically receive an email to bid for an upgrade to a higher cabin category. Bidding closes a week before sailing; you find out around 3 days before departure. Low bids on Balcony → Palace upgrades sometimes win, especially on sailings with availability.
How many people can share a Genting Dream cabin?
Most Interior and Oceanview cabins sleep 2–4 guests. Balcony and Balcony Deluxe sleep 3–4. Palace Suite, Deluxe and Deluxe Premium sleep up to 4. Palace Penthouse and Palace Villa can sleep up to 6 on designated units. Children under 18 must share a cabin with an adult aged 18+.

Food, Drinks & Dietary

Free vs paid dining, Halal, vegetarian, allergies and onboard drinks.

9 Q
Is food free on the Genting Dream?
Yes — main dining is included in your fare. The Lido buffet, Dream Dining Room Upper, Dream Dining Room Lower, Lobby Café and most of Blue Lagoon (24-hour Asian street food) are complimentary. Specialty restaurants (Umi Uma, Silk Road, Bistro by Mark Best, Prime Steakhouse, Hot Pot, Crystal Dining) charge SGD 30–100 per person.
Does the Genting Dream have Halal food?
Yes — the Genting Dream is the world's first OIC/SMIIC-standard Halal-friendly cruise ship. The Lido buffet has a dedicated Halal section with segregated utensils and preparation. Many other venues offer Halal options on request. Muslim guests should pre-request Halal meals at booking. A Surau (prayer room) is available onboard.
Are there vegetarian, Jain or Indian options?
Yes — Indian vegetarian dishes are widely available at The Lido buffet and in the Dream Dining Rooms. Jain meals (no onion, no garlic, no root vegetables) can be requested at booking or directly with the dining team on day one. Bistro by Mark Best has dedicated vegetarian options (gnocchi, eggplant pasta).
How are food allergies handled onboard?
Notify your booking team in advance of any allergies (nut, gluten, dairy, seafood, etc.) and the head waiter on the first night. The Genting Dream's dining staff are well trained — every venue can flag allergen-safe dishes and accommodate special preparation.
Do I need to book specialty restaurants in advance?
For Umi Uma (Japanese teppanyaki), Bistro by Mark Best, Silk Road and Prime Steakhouse, yes — strongly recommended. They sell out by day two. You can book through the StarDream Cruises app or at the dining desk on Deck 6 the moment you board. Palace guests can ask their butler.
Can I bring my own food or drinks onboard?
Outside alcohol is strictly prohibited — confiscated at security and held until disembarkation. Non-perishable pre-packaged food (snacks, biscuits, instant noodles, dry fruits) is allowed in limited quantities. Perishable food (fruits, vegetables, meat, seafood, cooked food) is not permitted for health and safety reasons.
Is alcohol included on the Genting Dream?
No — standard fares do not include alcohol. Cocktails average SGD 14–18, wine SGD 12–16 per glass. An 18% service charge applies to all onboard food and beverage. Palace fares typically include a premium drinks package (wines, cocktails, beer, spirits) plus a daily happy hour.
Does the Genting Dream have a drinks package?
Yes — beverage packages are sold per sailing, ranging from soft drinks to premium spirits. If you expect to have 2+ drinks per day, the package usually saves money. Available to purchase before boarding via the app or at any bar on day one.
Can I get room service on the Genting Dream?
Yes — in-room dining is available 24/7 for a small service fee on standard cabins. Palace guests get complimentary 24-hour in-room dining via their butler.

What's the minimum age to sail on Genting Dream?
Infants must be at least 6 months old on the day of embarkation. For longer trans-ocean sailings the minimum can be 12 months — for short Singapore sailings, 6 months is the standard. Pregnant guests should be under 24 weeks at the end of the cruise.
Do children need their own passport?
Yes — every passenger, regardless of age, needs their own valid passport (6+ months validity from sailing date). For Singapore residents under 15, an NRIC/FIN or original birth certificate is also acceptable for round-trip Singapore sailings.
Are there age limits for activities?
The rope course and zipline have a minimum height of 140 cm (also weight limits and weather closures). The waterslides have varying height limits per slide. The casino is 18+ only. Zouk Nightclub is 18+ after evening hours. The kids' splash pool and most general activities accommodate younger children.

Onboard Services & Facilities

Wi-Fi, laundry, medical, currency, smoking and other practical questions.

9 Q
Is Wi-Fi free on the Genting Dream?
No — Wi-Fi is sold as paid packages (around SGD 25–50 per device per day). It's fine for messaging and light browsing, not great for video calls. Most Palace fares include Wi-Fi for the cruise duration. You can also use the ship's app on the internal Wi-Fi (free) for the daily program and bookings.
What currency is used onboard?
The onboard currency on Genting Dream is Singapore Dollar (SGD). The ship is cashless — all charges go to your Access Card and are settled at the end of the cruise by credit card, debit card or e-wallet (Visa, Mastercard, UnionPay, Amex, Alipay, Apple Pay, Google Pay). Foreign currency exchange is available at Reception.
Is there a medical centre onboard?
Yes — an onboard medical clinic with a doctor and nurses is available 24/7. Services are chargeable (not included in fare) and can be expensive. Travel insurance is strongly recommended to cover medical fees. For serious emergencies, the ship can divert or arrange evacuation.
Can I do laundry on the Genting Dream?
Yes — laundry and valet services are available at an additional fee. Contact Reception or your Housekeeping steward. Self-service laundry rooms are not available — all laundry is done by the ship's staff with same-day or next-day return depending on volume.
Is smoking allowed on the Genting Dream?
Smoking is permitted only on open decks and designated public smoking areas. Cigarettes and cigars are allowed in those areas; e-cigarettes and vapes follow the same rules. Strictly prohibited: smoking in cabins, suites, corridors, restaurants, lounges and public indoor rooms. A heavy deep-cleaning fee applies if smoke is detected in a stateroom.
What electrical sockets are in the cabins?
Cabins have UK 3-pin (Type G) and US 2-pin (Type A) sockets. Singapore plugs work directly. Travellers from India, Europe and other regions should bring a universal travel adapter. Electrical heating appliances (kettles, irons, coffee makers, hair-curlers with open coils) are prohibited.
Does the Genting Dream follow Singapore time?
Yes — onboard time is Singapore Standard Time (UTC+8) throughout the entire cruise, regardless of which ports you visit. Malaysia and Thailand ports observe the same time zone, so no adjustments are needed.
Is there a dress code on the Genting Dream?
The overall dress code is smart-casual. Daytime is relaxed (shorts, swimwear at the pool only). For dinner in main and specialty restaurants, collared shirts, dresses or smart trousers are expected — no flip-flops or swimwear. On 3-night+ sailings, one night is usually flagged as optional "smart elegant."
Does the Genting Dream have a casino?
Yes — two casino zones. The Main Casino spans Decks 6, 7 and 8 with tables, slots and a lively atmosphere. The VIP Casino on Deck 16 is for high-limit play. Minimum age is 18 (photo ID required). The casino opens only after the ship clears Singapore waters.

Ports, Shore Excursions & Disembarkation

How port days work, booking shore excursions and the final morning.

6 Q
Can I get off the ship at port stops?
Yes — for all itineraries except the 2-night Cruise to Nowhere, you can disembark at every port and explore independently or join a shore excursion. The 2-night Cruise to Nowhere has no port stops — the ship cruises in international waters and returns to Singapore.
How do I book a shore excursion?
You can pre-book shore excursions before boarding via the StarDream Cruises website or app to skip the queue, or book onboard at the Shore Excursion Counter on Deck 6 (Lobby). Popular excursions like the Coral Island day-trip in Phuket and the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary fill fast — early booking is recommended.
Can I explore the port independently without a shore excursion?
Yes — you can walk around the port area, hire a local taxi, shop, visit beaches or eat local food at your own pace. Most ports (Penang, Phuket, Port Klang for KL) are accessible independently. Just make sure you're back onboard before the ship's "all aboard" time — the ship will not wait.
What time do I need to be back on the ship at a port?
The "all aboard" time is usually 30 to 60 minutes before scheduled departure and is printed in the Dream Daily program and announced overhead. Set your phone alarm for 1 hour before the all-aboard. If you booked a Genting Dream shore excursion and it runs late, the ship will wait — independent travellers must be back on time.
How does disembarkation work on the final day?
Settle your onboard bill and collect your passport the night before (saves long morning queues). Pack and leave luggage outside your cabin door overnight (collected and delivered to terminal baggage claim), or carry it yourself. Follow your assigned departure time on the Disembarkation Notice, pass through Singapore immigration, collect luggage and exit. Total process: 30–60 minutes if pre-prepared.
What time can I book my return flight on disembarkation day?
Book flights out of Changi no earlier than 3:00 PM on disembarkation day. Even with smooth disembarkation, allow 1–1.5 hours from ship to airport, plus airport security and boarding time. Many guests miss flights by cutting it too close.

Special Occasions, Groups & Pets

Anniversaries, birthdays, weddings, group bookings and pets policy.

5 Q
Can I celebrate a birthday or anniversary onboard?
Yes — let us know at the time of booking. We can arrange cake delivery, decorations, a champagne bottle in the cabin or even a private celebration at a specialty restaurant. Some packages are complimentary; premium options are paid. The Palace also offers complimentary celebrations for special occasions.
Does the Genting Dream host weddings?
Yes — the ship hosts onboard weddings and vow renewals for special charter sailings or via pre-booked packages. Contact us early for wedding planning — venues like the Zodiac Theatre, Bar 360 or private Palace areas can be reserved.
Can I book a group booking for friends, family or company?
Yes — group bookings of 8 cabins or more often qualify for group discounts, complimentary cabin upgrades or onboard credits. Ideal for company incentive trips, multi-generational families, school reunions and weddings. We handle group bookings regularly — send us your group size and dates.
Are pets allowed on the Genting Dream?
No, pets are not allowed onboard. Service animals (guide dogs for the visually impaired) are typically permitted but require advance notification and documentation. Contact us if you need to bring a service animal — we will help arrange the necessary clearances.

Yes, throughout the ship. Professional onboard photographers take guest photos at embarkation, formal nights and themed events — available for purchase at the Photo Gallery on Deck 6. Drone photography is prohibited. Some shows (Zodiac Theatre productions) may restrict flash photography.
